Committed to the cause
For over 40 years, Friends of the Delaware Canal has been keeping Bucks County beautiful through preservation and improvement missions. What started in 1985 has grown into a huge non-profit committed to protecting “the rich legacy and natural beauty of the Delaware Canal.” Thanks to this organization, the trails and nature we know and love have been able to flourish under their care.
In March of 2023, not only were they celebrating 40 years, but the Friends are taking on their biggest project this year: the restoration of the historic Spahr’s Camelback Bridge in Upper Black Eddy, PA. The Friends say that this endeavor was “one of their most significant undertakings” thus far.
In hearing about their bright plans for the future. Local business owner, Karen Thompson, of Lace Silhouettes Lingerie, Fox & Holly, Cotton Company, and Village Outfitters, collectively known as LSL Brands, along with her team, were excited to help their future projects through a generous $1,000 donation to the foundation.
The Friends of the Delaware Canal had to say this about LSL Brands’ continuous support of their organization: “With [LSL Brands] assistance and concern bolstering our organization, we look forward to having a fully watered canal and intact towpath trail, so we can all take advantage of the opportunities they offer.”
LSL Brands has been dedicated to making a difference for 35 years and supports more than 30 charities and community programs annually. While operating multiple store locations throughout the northeast, Thompson and her team prioritize supporting the community.
Thompson is thankful for all the work the Friends of the Delaware Canal have been doing for our community for over 40 years. Thompson and her team want to celebrate this historical milestone with them through her donation and the continued support of their important projects that makes Bucks County so great.
