Maternity care coalition
For a Brighter future
In the United States, 1 in 16 infants are born with little to no prenatal care. There are numerous reasons for this, including a lack of access to care, inability to pay, and wariness of medical appointments. Due to this, many children are born underweight and develop health issues later in life. Seeing the need for accessible care for parenting families, the Maternity Care Coalition was formed in 1980.
Since then, the Maternity Care Coalition has helped support over 145,000 families throughout southeast Pennsylvania. Their primary focus is on neighborhoods with high rates of poverty, infant mortality, health disparities, and change in immigration patterns. At Maternity Care Coalition, they help support families through pregnancy up until the child is three years old. The aim is to not only raise a healthy child but provide the child with a promising future through early development.
Karen Thompson, founder and president of LSL Brands, feels deeply connected to the early-age support of future generations and believes success starts early. This past month, LSL Brands made a $1,000 donation to support the Maternity Care Coalition. Through this donation, families around Pennsylvania will be able to receive the pre & post-natal care that every caregiver deserves.
LSL Brands is passionate about creating a brighter future for the local community and believes it is important that all aspects of the community are supported, and there is no better way to support the future than caring for the next generation.
