A Fight Against breast cancer
Once a year on a crisp October morning, a crowd wearing pink gathers outside of Lace Silhouettes Lingerie in Peddler’s Village to make an impact on their community. Since 1995, Karen Thompson has held the Annual Walk Pink Event: a one mile walk through Peddler’s Village that starts at Lace Silhouettes Lingerie to support the fight against breast cancer. Through this event and with the support of the local community, Lace Silhouettes Lingerie raises money for those battling breast cancer in the surrounding communities.
Thompson has partnered with several different breast cancer programs and centers over the years, but more recently has teamed up with Main St., formerly Pine2Pink. Main St. has made it their mission to support local breast cancer fighters by easing their worries through financial assistance and wellness support. All proceeds go to help local cancer centers, such as Breast Cancer Program at Doylestown Cancer Institute as well as the Fox Chase Cancer Center in Buckingham and the Grand View Hospital in Perkasie, PA.
When Karen Thompson opened her first store back in 1988, she and her team have been committed to making a difference in the local community. For over 38 years, Lace Silhouettes and its family stores have continued their work around Bucks County, supporting not only Main St. but over 25 charities and community programs annually. They are always looking for ways to support their community and give back to those around them. Through this walk, they plan to make a meaningful impact in the community for many more years to come.
